What’s New September 2022
September 2022 is packed full of exciting new updates, including our very first product of the month – Microsoft Viva! Microsoft also has major new updates for Teams, Teams in Education and Windows 11. There are new updates for CorelDRAW, a brand-new SketchUp offering for universities, Jabra have released new Engage headsets and Yealink release their brand-new MeetingBoard 86. What’s New in Microsoft Teams | August and September 2022
Microsoft are excited to tell you about the many new Teams features added in August and September. This month marks the availability of collaborative annotations in meetings, an improved front row experience in Microsoft Teams rooms, intelligent chat translation on mobile devices and more.
What’s NEW in Microsoft Teams for Education | September 2022
Microsoft continues to release great NEW updates, including:
- Assignments and Grades – NEW customisable timed quizzes, changes to allow teacher comments to be hidden until assignments are returned to students, and an updated Export to Excel feature with several usability and quality of life improvements.
- Reading Progress – Phonics Rules Insights dashboards are being constantly improved to reflect students’ understanding of phonic rules, including auto-detect software for analysis.
- Reflect is now a Featured Tab in all Class Teams – Reflect was recently updated to appear as a featured tab in each class and is now also enabled for each staff member too!

Microsoft released a MAJOR Windows 11 update
Microsoft has rolled out Windows 11’s first major update, adding a number of new features to improve user security and the overall Windows experience.
This 22H2 update focuses on four important innovation areas, including boosting security controls for those working in hybrid settings:
- Making the PC easier and safer to use for everyone, including Start menu updates, faster and more accurate searching and File Explorer tabs!
- Empowering people to be more productive, including Snap layout enhancements, the NEW Focus feature, and performance and battery optimisations.
- Making Windows the best place to connect, create and play, including Windows Studio Effects for improved video and audio calls, and new creator tools.
- Delivering added security, management and flexibility to the workplace, including NEW Microsoft Defender SmartScreen to identify and alert you when users are entering Microsoft credentials into malicious apps and websites.
NEW updates announced for CorelDRAW Graphics Suite & Technical Suite
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite’s latest update includes:
- A NEW scaling tool that delivers total flexibility and accuracy when scaling objects
- Enhancements to the Export workflow for accelerated output
- A variety of new practice projects and design templates to help develop skills
- Additional user-inspired enhancements from the CorelDRAW Ideas Portal, including WebP file support, a reimagined New Document dialogue, UI enhancements and more
CorelDRAW Technical Suite’s latest update includes:
- Three NEW scaling methods to deliver total flexibility and accuracy when scaling objects that reference a portion of an object or another object
- Interface updates for an optimised Windows 11 experience, plus new WebP input and output file support provide increased options to bring technical drawings to the web
- Updated CGM 4 workflows to improve their efficiency

Adobe has announced a merger agreement to acquire Figma, a leading web-first collaborative design platform, for approximately $20 billion in cash and stock.
Together, Adobe and Figma will reimagine the future of creativity and productivity, accelerate creativity on the web, advance product design, and inspire global communities of creators, designers and developers.
This combination of Adobe and Figma will bring with it an exciting new era of collaborative creativity!
NEW capabilities within the Adobe Admin Console
On October 5th, Adobe are releasing new capabilities within their Admin Console that will automate workflows for creating user accounts and provisioning Adobe products to users. By enabling automated workflows, you will gain additional granular controls to manage your Adobe users, products and services.
- Create Federated user accounts on-demand – Configure identity providers within your federated directories in the Admin Console to auto-create accounts for users who successfully authenticate with their organisation ID.
- Receive and manage license requests from users in your organisation – Users will be able to request Adobe apps via integrated Adobe surfaces, and you can review and manage these requests directly in the Admin Console. This feature will be enabled automatically by default for your organization starting on October 5th; you have the option to disable the user access request feature prior to release.
- Assign licenses to users automatically – You will be able to configure rules directly in the Admin Console to auto-assign specified product licenses to users indicated as qualified by an admin who will be granted access upon request.
Zoom has announced that their annual Zoomtopia conference will take place on November 8th & 9th 2022 in San Jose, California. You can attend this hybrid experience virtually or in-person. The EMEA virtual event then takes place on November 17th, 2022.
